I made an appointment for an eye exam for contacts because mine would be expiring soon and they told me the soonest they could see me was 1.5 months out. They also told me my insurance would likely cover it, as I'd asked, and can't pay out of pocket with a baby on the way at the moment. I scheduled the appointment. Fast forward and I arrive 10 mins early to the appointment in order to fill out paperwork. I then sit and wait in the waiting room for 50 mins...a good 40 mins past my appointment time. I got up to complain because I had another appointment to get to pretty soon. Then, when I get called back, finally, they don't apologize but simply state they are very busy because they scheduled a lot of "medical" that morning. Ugh...I had my appointment for a month and a half! Maybe y'all shouldn't overbook. Then I was told they wouldn't do the contact exam without the glasses exam (which I don't need because I just got my glasses exam in December) and they my insurance DOESN'T cover contact exams and never has. Furious, I explained what I had been told and that the only reason I made the appt with them was because I was told my insurance would cover the exam. I then walked out having wasted an hour of my day.
I have been going to Dr. Robert and Real Eyes for several years. The entire staff is professional, friendly, and I trust them entirely. It's always great to "see" them.
This was my usual Dr. for years. The service used to be great. The Doctor is a good man and a good doctor. But the receptionist he currently has is a horrible mean lady. So if you enjoy rude people this is the place for you. My glasses had been stolen in Albuquerque and I was having the worst of time because I was getting headaches and dizzy. I even borrowed some glasses from my sister to get me through work. I went in thinking they might treat it as an emergency and try and book me asap. I was wrong. This was April 4th and the next appointment they have is the end of June. The receptionist said she can't do anything for me unless someone cancels. She had a cancellation on May 27th but her coworker just put someone in for that spot. She started laughing and told her coworker that she just took her spot. Then turned to me "oh well that spots not open anymore". She was laughing like it's funny to be in pain and have to drive a vehicle with bad vision. She is a horrible person for that position, and I honestly feel sorry for the people that are related to this rude lady. I ended up going to a wonderful place in Santa Fe where they took me as a walk in and got me my glasses the same day.
My husband was in the area for an elk hunt he had planned for almost a year. He woke up in the middle of his first night and was seeing shadows out of his left eye. Found out abt this place from the guide and they got him in when he drove up. He was impressed by the entire staff. Said both the receptionist were friendly and helpful and the doctor spent time w him and explained his condition and elaborated extensively as to what may have caused it. Our insurance took care of all but $20. We highly recommend this professional. Proud we didn’t listen to the other reviews or he would have missed out on one of the most pleasant drs. visits ever.
