I've been here many times. I have seen many documentaries on Kit Carson. None of them ever mention he lived in Taos yet his alleged home is there. Neat old historical place and is a pace recognized on the NHR.

Excellent History channel showing of Kit Carson's life. Home is well-preserved and has a good history of early Taos and NM life.
I highly recommend a visit to this museum. The gift shop is attractive and reasonably priced, and the artifacts illustrate the story of Kit Carson's amazing life. The latest donation: a huge, beautiful buffalo head that seems to emanate the spirit of the Plains. The docents are friendly and very informative. If you are a student of Western history, this tour is a must.
