Great gear and clothing, but do not honor their commitments. We have lived in Taos for 4 years and shopped extensively at this store. The first summer we were here, we were encouraged to get "in the system" as once you were in, they would keep track of what you spent. Once you spent $500 you would get a credit of $25. We have spent several thousands of dollars at this shop over the past few years and never received any kind of a discount or bonus. One other time I asked an employee if a skirt was on sale (it was the end of the season and I had found it online for 50% off; they still had it full price). She said no but that locals get a 10% discount every day. We had been in their system with our local address for four years and never received any kind of a discount. I am done shopping here.
Great gear shop, they have had some odd items in stock that I've needed, its small and their on hand inventory isn't huge, but its a great place.
Favorite gear shop in Taos. The staff is very knowledgeable about the area, and will help you discover the best activities in the region. They stock climbing and backpacking gear, so its worth a stop if you're on your way to the backcountry.
